That Next Dude: E. Dan

Gogoluver

Wiz Khalifa's Deal or No Deal was released on November 24th and reached the top of the iTunes store hip hop chart. It also landed in the top ten in iTunes in the overall charts for its opening week. The way he could do this without being on 106 and Park weekly and having his own reality show baffles me as much it did you as you read it. Don't lie to me. It baffled you. But the reason why he is in his position is called grind, commitment, dedication, devotion. There was also a few people that helped him along the way and I had the pleasure to speak to one of them and formulate an interview. Click read more to read an exclusive interview from E. Dan as we talked about producing, Wiz Khalifa, home improvement and the Steelers. Yeah, we touched all bases.

Ryan Leslie- Transition [REVIEW]

Gogoluver

Jay-Z has been known to produce high quality music quickly. During the prime of his career, he released an album each year for seven years. That is usually the common argument of why Jay-Z is the best rapper to ever live. But Jay-Z has never produced the feat that Ryan Leslie has done right now by releasing two albums in the same year. The real question is though can Ryan Leslie be the diamond in the ruff for 2009.

Wale- Attention: Deficit [REVIEW]

Myjestik

Wale has been on his grind for some time, so if this your first time hearing about him… slap yourself for me. Thank you. This DMV native has made quite a name for him in the mixtape scene, aligning himself with Mark Ronson, creating 100 Miles and Running and A Mixtape About Nothing. He was also featured at the VMAs, The Hip-Hop Honors, and many times on BET. I don’t watch BET, so you know how that goes. In my opinion, A Mixtape About Nothing is one of the best mixtapes I’ve ever heard. With his influence from hip-hop and a bit of go-go flavor, it was a breath a fresh air. Unfortunately, A Mixtape About Nothing also set the bar for Wale. Let’s see if he exceeds expectation on Attention: Deficit.

That Next Dude: Wordsmith

Josh aka Choc

I recently had an interview with Wordsmith, who has a project coming out with Chubb Rock. Topics covered range from his upcoming project with Chubb Rock, to his musical influences, to D.O.A. Be on the lookout for his album dropping July 14th with Chubb Rock called Bridging the Gap (click for more)

That Next Dude: Donny Goines

Myjestik

With a new mixtape and a growing buzz, I had the pleasure to ask Donny Goines a couple questions. His name and music has been blowing up on almost every blog and every hip-hop site and our lucky readers get a great interview with Mr. Goines. Without further to do, let's get into it... Throwback Thursday: Horse & Carraige

Artist: Camron featuring Mase
Album: Confessions of Fire
Release Date: 1998

Excuse the quality of the video but you already know this was the jam back in the day. This is the time when albums could go Gold even if the artist was not even worth 500,000 himself. Wow have times changed.
