A_Con on Brown Sugar and Kanyes Street Lights

A_Con - Monday (6th)

...“Simplicity is the fine line between eloquence and plainness”. Now honestly…who can say that music nowadays could bring forth words like that? I mention that quote because it has stuck with me in many realms of my own life. In subtle moments of comedy, while I shop for clothing, and especially so when I listen to music. One particular song that I find holds true these characteristics is one released not too long ago called “Street Lights”...

That Next Dude: Wordsmith

Josh aka Choc - Sunday (28th)

I recently had an interview with Wordsmith, who has a project coming out with Chubb Rock. Topics covered range from his upcoming project with Chubb Rock, to his musical influences, to D.O.A. Be on the lookout for his album dropping July 14th with Chubb Rock called Bridging the Gap (click for more)

That Next Dude: Donny Goines

Myjestik - Thursday (25th)

With a new mixtape and a growing buzz, I had the pleasure to ask Donny Goines a couple questions. His name and music has been blowing up on almost every blog and every hip-hop site and our lucky readers get a great interview with Mr. Goines. Without further to do, let's get into it... Raheem Devaughn - Art of Noise Album Review

Gogoluver - Wednesday (1st)

It is not so often that you get a mixtape from an RnB artist. It seems that many more are crossing over because they have begun noticing that people are not paying for music as much as they used to. The best bet to build that "buzz" that every artist needs is through the mixtape. Raheem Devaughn decided he would try his hand at the mixtape circuit by releasing a full length mixtape. The real question is will Raheem Devaughn deliver a knock out blow for his fans or will he fall flat on his face? Click the header to find out.

Padded Room Pushed Back

Posted by gogoluver On 8:24 PM

The Padded Room, Joe Budden's sophomore album has been postponed until February 24 due to 'complications with the physical product'. The initial release date for The Padded Room was October 28 and was kinda anticipated by me.

Although the release of The Padded Room has been delayed, we will still be able to hear new music from Joe Budden on October 28th. His label, Amalgam Digital, will be releasing a digital album titled Halfway House on the 28th. It will have 14 new tracks from Budden and can be purchased online at www.amalgamdigital.com.

This is how Joe Budden feels about the situation. "Though I'm not happy about it being pushed so far back, I do understand the method behind the madness. We've got an album I'm extremely proud of and a lead single that Amalgam Digital and I are both very happy with, but for those of you who are just as anxious as I am, I apologize," Joe Budden said in a statement.

Joe Budden's label Amalgam Digital also issued a statement on the matter, "There is a popular misconception that Amalgam Digital is strictly an internet label. Although the label places a strong focus on new media marketing initiatives, promotions, and distributing digital releases, the company is actually still releasing physical CD's as well. While Amalgam has a unique and progressive strategy, the company still faces the same issues and delays every major label encounters when dealing with physical product." At least we are finding out in advance instead or hours before it is supposed to be released. Good to see his business is handled very well over there.
